After the debut of the PBS documentary, “A Woman’s Work: The NFL’s Cheerleader Problem,” the film team that brought the story of cheerleader activism to the screen presented an online panel discussion featuring former Oakland Raiders cheerleader Lacy Thibodeaux, her lawyer Sharon Vinick, and Assemblywoman Lorena Gonzalez Fletcher, along with others. The panel, entitled “Cheering on Change,” was moderated by legal expert and The Young Turks correspondent, Adrienne Lawrence, no stranger to gender discrimination in the sports industry. After going public in 2017 about the rampant sexual harassment, misogynoir and gender discrimination at her former employer ESPN, Lawrence became the first on-air personality to sue ESPN for sexual harassment.
